Certified Court Reporters

Court reporters must be certified by the National Court Reporting Association (NCRA) with a bare minimum of a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) licensure, though many skilled reporters will go on to get another license. These professionals should be able to type at a speed of around 200 words per minute and be proficient in proofreading, editing, and researching. They should present themselves in a professional, confident manner while still being polite and respectful.

Quality Transcripts

Court reporters should be able to produce a detailed record of everything said exactly when the attorney needs it. These transcripts should always meet the format set by the state, be concise, accurate, in the format of the client’s choice, and delivered in a configuration that is easily unbound. Firms should be open about their delivering policies and schedules to keep everyone on time.
